In CSGO, on a professional five man team, each player has different roles they have to fulfill to be successful with their team. In this blogpost i will talk about those roles.
In Game Leader: With support of the Coach, the In Game Leader (IGL) calls the shots in the game. They are the one that calls the strats at the beginning of each round, and places their teammates around the map like chess pieces. Usually though, IGLs are usually not good marksmen because of their focus on strategy.
AWPer: The AWPer is the dedicated sniper of the team, and teams always have one along with an IGL. The role is named after the name of the sniper in the game: The AWP. Different AWpers have different styles of playing, with some being good at stationary positions, while other playing well while moving around. The IGL usually has to call for their team around the playstyle of the AWPer for maximum efficiency.
The next few positions are never set in stone and are more fluid, with players switching between these roles constantly.
Entry Fragger: The Entry Fragger is the main gun who goes in guns blazing. These players have to be quick on their feet and good a controlling their spray when entering a site. These players are usually dead a lot.
Support: A support player does in after the Entry Fragger, throwing flashbangs and smoke grenade to help them in, as well as killing the enemy that killed the entry fragger
I will continue this list in another blog post.
