For those of you that do not know, a Major Tournament for CSGO is a Valve funded tournament, hosted by one of the many companies that host many other minor tournaments. A Major is an enormous event, with size comparable to that of the Super Bowl, but for CSGO. All the elite teams fight for the first place spot, along with a slice of the 1,000,000 dollar prize pool. Teams prepare a ton, being one of the most important parts of a teams timeline of the year. There are around two per year, one per half.

This is the first major title won by the Astalis team, pulling it away from Virtus.Pro, who are now the runner ups. The series lasted 3 matches, with Astalis beating Virtus.Pro 16-14 on the last map for the championship prize.

The viewership record was set higher on Twitch during the finals reach over 1.2 million simultaneous viewers during the final match. Making a total of 2.2 concurrent watchers including those watching on TBS and in the live stadium.

Thi was the first major I have attended, and was an amazing event. I had the benefits of a VIP pass, making the experience so much better. While the Eleague Major smashed record numbers, it is hopeful that the next one will be bigger, much bigger.
